If you’re into comics, especially the world of superheroes, you might already know Derek Laufman. In fact, he created the critically acclaimed RuinWorld, the whimsically charming BOT-9, and The Witch of Wickerson. Currently, he’s working on the horror fantasy series Crimson Fall, which follows the epic adventures of monster slayer Sir Duncross. He not only creates comics and graphic novels, but also designs toys and develops board games. And let me tell you, he’s incredibly talented. The story, which follows a little yellow fish on a journey inside the head of a robot (I know, it sounds a bit weird, but trust me, the stunning artwork makes it all come together), features amazing designs. I’m a big fan of Laufman’s playful characters and artwork. In fact, they take me back to my own childhood, reminding me of the comics I loved, like Steven Strong and Spirou by Peyo, as well as some of Miyazaki’s work. This speaks volumes about how much I appreciate Laufman’s creative skills. Furthermore, these skills consistently produce art that connects with a wide audience, making Derek’s work perfect for people of all ages.
